Frequently Asked Questions for Continuing Students

  • You will need to complete the entire “Handle Your Business” process and be Enrollment Cleared to participate in the housing selection and lottery.

  • Yes, any student participating in housing selection and lottery must complete “Handle Your Business.”

  • Weekly. The Office of Residence Life receives a weekly report from the Office of the Registrar, identifying students who have become Enrollment Cleared. Once a student’s enrollment clearance status is confirmed, the housing system will generate a lottery number, and students will be notified via their MyCSU email.

  • Lottery numbers and housing selections times are in your MyHousing portal under the “My Future Housing Assignment” section of the homepage in red

  • You can choose your roommate/ suitemates during the month of April. Remember, everyone must complete the “Handle Your Business” process to participate. Once you and your roommate agree to live together, you should decide where you will want to live and who will choose during the housing lottery selection during your appointed time.

  • 1. Click the log-in on the right side labeled MyHousing.
    2. In the navigation bar, highlight Room Selection and click on Roommate Selection.
    3. Enter the correct spelling OR ID number of the student you wish to have as a roommate.
    4. Select Student. You may choose a maximum of two roommate choices.
    5. Your proposed roommate will be sent an email stating your request to live with them. They must log in, complete the application, and confirm your request to match you together.
    6. Once this occurs, either roommate can proceed with choosing an available room during his\her lottery selection time.

  • Yes, students seeking accommodations are encouraged to still participate in the housing selection process.
     
    Any request for medical accommodations must include a letter from either a physician or health care professional clearly detailing the reasons for needing a single room or accommodations and must register with the Office for Academic Empowerment & Accessibility.  The appropriate office will decide whether there is enough cause to grant the request for accommodation.  Medical singles are not guaranteed, and students are responsible for paying the appropriate charge for the single.  The Office Residence Life cannot guarantee a specific hall or space when allocating accommodation. Should a housing accommodation be approved, the Office of Residence Life will make administrative housing changes accordingly.
     

  •   1. Log on to your MyCSU and enter into your MyHousing Portal.
      2. Click on the right login labeled MyHousing.
      3. In the navigation bar, highlight Room Selection and click on Roommate Selection.
      4. Highlight Room Selection and choose Select a Room/Suite.
      5. Choose preferred hall/floor/room and click Find Available Rooms. Only rooms open to your status, and gender will be available for you.
      6. Select an available room.
      7. If drop-down boxes indicate correct roommates, click Submit Selection. Select a Room
      8. Highlight Room Selection and choose Select a Room/Suite.
      9. Choose preferred hall/floor/room and click Find Available Rooms. Only rooms open to your status and gender will be available for you to choose.
    10. Select an available room.
    11. If drop down box shows your name, click Submit Selection.
    12. A confirmation notice should appear stating your room selection is now complete.

  • Honors housing is for students with a cumulative grade point average of a 3.5 or higher.

  • Apartment-style housing is for junior and senior-level students with 60 or more credits hours. Sophomore students entering their junior year must have earned a minimum of 50 credit hours at the time in which a housing application is submitted and have a current spring semester schedule of 12 or more credit hours.

  • Yes, however, modified meal plans are offered to residents who live in the apartment sthyle residence halls.

  • In order to apply to live off campus, you must have earned 60 credit hours or more at the time of application and:
    1.     attend the mandatory off-campus housing meeting on Wednesday, April 15 at 2 p.m., or Monday, April 27 at 7 p.m. via Zoom –– Meeting ID Number: 565 852 437
    2.     not have a judicial action within the last 12 months
    3.     have earned a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or greater
    4.     complete the Handle Your Business process
    5.     complete a housing application and
    6.     complete an off-campus living application
     
    Once all six steps have been complete, your application will be considered. Applications to live off-campus in the fall semester will only be accepted between March 1st  and May 15th. Completing the process does NOT guarantee your off-campus living application will be approved. You must receive an approval letter to live off-campus from the Office of Residence Life. If you sign an apartment or housing lease without approval from the Office of Residence Life, you will be financially responsible for your on-campus housing AND your off-campus housing.

  • After you complete the off-campus living application process, you must receive an approval letter to live off-campus from the Office of Residence Life. If you sign an apartment or housing lease without approval from the Office of Residence Life, you will be financially responsible for your on-campus housing AND your off-campus housing. You will NOT be released from housing if you sign an apartment lease without being approved to live off-campus.

  • Beginning Monday, May 22 brunch hours are 11:30 am - 1:00 pm. Dinner will be 4:30 - 5:30 pm.
